Penn Valley Community Church

Penn Valley Community Church (PVCC), located at 14685 Pleasant Valley Rd is allowing GVPC to use their gym for indoor pickleball. (See below for directions). There are 3 courts on a multi-sport lined floor. The schedule for the PVCC courts will be posted on playtimescheduler (playtimescheduler.com or the playtimescheduler app)

This is a NEW PROGAM for winter of 2024, so changes are probable.  We are building the calendar based on the popularity of sessions.  Keep your eye on Playtime Scheduler!  At this time, we are offering:

  1. “Cardio” sessions for varying skill levels.  These are 10 minute timed games.  The purpose of the timer is that so everyone finishes at the same time so it’s much easier to mix up the players.  Winners move up and split, losers move down and split.
  2. Varying skill levels of open play.  The facilitator will decide how to mix up the players, be it timed games or another option.
  3. Private sessions.  If you have a group of 8 or more players, you can reserve the gym for private play.  The same cost applies and there must be a “facilitator” (see below) available to open/close the gym and collect fees.  You can invite a facilitator to play in your group, or if you only have enough players for 2 courts (with no facilitator playing with you), a facilitator can bring their own group and use a court.  To set up a private session, email gvpcindoor@gmail.com with a request including date, time, session length (2 or 3 hours), number of players, and who your facilitator is, or if you need one assigned.  You will be notified when your request has been accepted by gvpcindoor.  It is then your choice to put it on Playtimescheduler as an “Invite only session”, or not.  Some people like to do this to make communication between players easier.  If you choose to do this, DO NOT check the box that says “Hide session completely from uninvited”.

At this time, our group of facilitators are:

  •  Ann Adams
  •  Kristin Cook
  •  Vince Dallugge
  •  Art DeLeon
  •  Mary DeLeon
  •  Alice Gidel
  •  Lavina Hall
  •  Bridgett Higginbotham
  •  Connie Leonard
  •  Missy Patton
  •  Suzi Rosas
  •  Judy Sinclair

The following is the protocol for playing at PVCC, GVPC Members only:

  • Because of a limited waiting area, player count is limited to 15 per session.  The facilitator will decide how the players will mix up, based on attendance.
  • There are no walk-ins at the PVCC venue.  You must be signed up on PTS or you will be turned away at the door.
  • If you sign up for cardio, you MUST be ready to play at start time, and stay for the duration. If you are late or leave early, you ruin the session for everyone. If you signed up and can’t make it you MUST take your name off of PTS 24 hours ahead of session, and notify the facilitator of that session. If there’s no waiting list, try to find a sub. No shows will be banned from signing up for 30 days.
  • All players must abide by the instructions of the court facilitators and follow the GVPC Code of Conduct. Failure to follow the facilitators instructions is a code of conduct violation.
  • Players must enter and exit via the back door only.
  • The cost is $5 for 2 hour sessions, $10 for 3 hour sessions. Pay at the door, cash only, no IOUs. You must have a wristband on before going onto a court.
  • No food is allowed in the gym.
  • Wear shoes that have “non marking soles” and clean soles with no gravel and/or dirt before entering the courts.
  • Please help with set up or tear down of the nets if needed. The Club will provide the indoor balls.
